    What is online counseling ?

    Online counseling or e-therapy is a new way to ‘see’ a counselor. Busy schedules, difficulty with traveling to the therapist’s office, and privacy concerns are only a few of the reasons given for choosing online counseling.

    Once you register on my secure counseling website, I will call you and we will schedule a session at a convenient time for you. As long as you have a webcam, we will be able to see each other and hear each other in our session as if we were in the same room!

    I will walk you through this every step of the way. There’s no need to download or do anything technical at all!

    Facts about online counseling:

    It works. Research has shown that online counseling can be even more helpful than the usual in-person sessions (University of Zurich, 2013)

    It’s convenient. In online counseling, you decide when, where, how, and how much you participate. You are in control!

    It’s fast. Instead of waiting weeks, or longer, for an appointment or a response, you typically get email responses the same day or you can schedule an online session with me – whichever works best for you.

    It’s private. Our online session is private and secure. We will meet on my HIPAA secure counseling website. It’s potentially more private than face to face psychotherapy (for example, some of the insurance companies asks for reports from the therapist you work with….this will never happen here!)

    It’s accessible. If you have access to internet, you have access to my online counseling website for sessions, emails, and journaling in-between our sessions if you want.

    What can I expect in a counseling session?

    Every counseling session is unique and caters to you and your specific goals. Each session is one hour and we can meet once a week or more or less according to your needs.

    During our sessions, we will talk about the primary issues and concerns you have in your life. We will go as slow or as fast as you want to go.

    Counseling can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue or longer-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth. It’s up to you!
